Our Hobbit Hole

Our Hobbit Hole

What lies inside?

The hobbits that live under our garden are shy. They keep themselves to themselves, and they are rarely seen. Their front door is always shut. We think they only come out at night.

We did find the door open one morning. We were so excited that we rushed outside and peered in. Later we realised that we shouldn’t have, but… well, you would have done too, wouldn’t you?

Okay, we didn’t just peer in (and this is the bit we are a little embarrassed about). We also managed to take a few quick pics on our phone. We know. That was an unforgivable invasion of their privacy. In fact, we felt so guilty about what we’d done that we posted a miniature note under their door the next day to apologise, and to invite them round for tea. We haven’t heard back yet, so we reckon they probably didn’t mind.

Anyway, the pics came out quite well. It’s not often you get to peek inside a hobbit hole. This is what we saw.

Definitely nothing to do with Lord of the Rings so we hope no-one minds us using this image as it definitely from the Hobbit Hole under our garden.

Actually, it’s a bit worse than that. And we didn’t put this bit in our letter. We have one of those flexible selfie sticks for holding our phone, so we managed to get some more pics from further inside. Sorry.

There was a little studio area.

And a kitchen.

And then, down a long corridor, past rooms left and right, you get to the back door. We’ve not been able to work out where this comes out. It’s somewhere beautiful, anyway.
